Abstract.
The article presents the analysis of the traditional Khakass costume items and its details in the Khakass heroic epos. The study of national costume vocabulary must be conducted using all available sources in a language. When analyzing the Khakass heroic epos some types of clothes were detected which were not described in ethnographic literature as well as the items in clothing details taking part in formation of phraseological units and not fixed in lexicographical sources.
