Abstract.
The article studies the peculiarities of multisided creative work of the first Ossetian enlightener I. Yalguzidze. The first Ossetian enlightener Ivan Yalguzidze (Gabaraev) was born in 1775. For the first time he made the Ossetian writing system based on the Georgian graphics; he is also the author of the first Issetian abecedarium. In general I. Yalguzidze played an outstanding role in the formation and development of national consciousness and self-consciousness of the Ossetian people and their ethnic worldview.
