Abstract.
The article “Interpretation of Army Life in the «War Trilogy» by Anthony Powell” considers the changes in the world outlook of a character-narrator occurred over a period of three novels. These changes form a different attitude of the character to reality and develop a realistic conception of the world. Powell draws a parallel between the army atmosphere and mythological hierarchy. The English social life in the wartime is represented by the author with peculiar confidence and artistic skill.
