Abstract.
The article considers the specifics of the poetics of the Austrian writer Leo Perutz (1882-1957) by the material of the historical fantastical novel “The Marquis of Bolibar”). The author of the article pays special attention to the synthesis of historical and fantastical as a dominating principle of the writer’s poetics. The distinctive feature of the historical fantastical novels by Perutz is a special vision of a problem of self-awareness of a personality, search for his place in history.
