Abstract.
The paper is devoted to the investigation of one of the most interesting and complicated categories of words - nouns of Nomina agentis class. The special attention is paid to revealing the essence of a term “agent” in the modern Russian language and their lexico-semantic classification. Analysis of lexico-semantic relations within the area of agent names argues that the class of agent names has a complex field structure into which the nuclear and peripheral zones are easily distinguished.
