Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of solar basis in the interpretations of the legend about Tristan and Iseult by modern writers. The author focuses on the consideration of natural symbols in works. The elements of solar myth are considered in the historical aspect by the example of the legend about Tristan and Iseult, the cycle of poems "Tristan" (1921), the novel "Lolita" (1955) and the novel "Brazil" (1994) of John Updike; thereby it is possible to retrace the global solarization of human culture.
