Abstract.
In the article the peculiarities of dialogization of a character's inner monologue of A. P. Chekhov's prose fiction as a manifestation of his individual style are revealed. The author singles out and analyzes question-and-answer complexes, affirmative and negative sentences as ways of dialogization of a character's inner speech, identifies their functions in the short stories and novellas of different periods of the writer's creativity.
