Abstract. The article examines the role of the course “Foreign language: advanced level” for the Master’s degree students while developing research and academic skills. The paper presents the content of the course, distinguishes the basic sections, identifies the materials, methods and techniques used within the framework of the course, introduces the typical practical tasks while teaching academic reading and writing in a foreign language.
