Abstract.
The article is devoted to the comparative studies of structural and typological peculiarities of the verbs of perceptive semantics of the English and Tatar languages representing the basic means of perception. Perceptual process is a dual process presupposing both an act of perception as itself - to look - and its result - to see. Dual nature of this process manifests itself at the level of all means of perception and is a linguistic universal.
