Abstract.
The article reveals the specifics of functioning of medical metaphors of the sphere-donor “war” in the professional discourse of health-care workers. The special attention is paid to the models of metaphorization used for term formation and to the analysis of associative relations between the spheres from which the lexical units are borrowed. The author also focuses on the new meanings acquired by the resulting terms.
