Abstract. This work is devoted to the problems of variability of the modern English language. It describes a number of models of the English language, representing the multiplicity of its forms under conditions of increasing economic and social-political influence of the English-speaking countries in the world and expanding interlanguage contacts. A comparative analysis of these models is conducted from the linguistic and social-cultural perspectives.
