CLASS AND ESTHETIC DIFFERENTIATION OF THE KABARDINIAN FOLKLORIC TEXTS

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of the imaginative system of the famous Kabardinian songs about Damaley. The author introduces her own interpretation of the esthetic conceptions used in the texts of the mentioned cycle; she divides them into the two etiologically conditioned types and compares their different variations with the class strata of the traditional Kabardinian society of the XVIII century. The hypotheses about Damaley’s class belonging, the authorship of the texts and especially the existence of two class-specified systems of aesthetic thinking in the feudal Kabardinian ethnosocial medium are novations.
