Abstract.
In the article the author analyses linguistic expressions, stylistic peculiarities, tactics and functions characteristic for the first inaugural speech of the 44
th president of the USA Barack Obama. The central functions of the first inaugural statement of the head of the USA are orienting, manipulative and solidarity ones; the main tactics are as follows: identification, glorification, unity, positive positioning basing on previous positive experience, super-goal construction.
