Abstract.
The article is devoted to the French comics as a free type of the illustrated fiction text. By the material of the comics of the series “Le petit Spirou” (“Young Spirou”) and “Cédric” (“Cedric”) the lexical, grammatical and stylistic phenomena of the French comics are ascertained. The author points out the linguistic peculiarities of this genre, gives a lot of examples of the specific syntactic features of live oral speech, notes the expressiveness of the vocabulary of the comics language, the phonetic trends of the modern colloquial French language.
