Abstract.
The article presents a survey of the basic structural and typological characteristics of the modern Turkic (by the material of the Tatar and Bashkir) and Basque phonological systems in comparative aspect. The author considers the data of the parent language reconstructions and typological parallels in the morphonology, prosody of the languages under analysis. Relying on the findings she identifies the integrity of the basic typological similarities at the phonological level.
