Abstract.
In the article the peculiarities of the artistic solution of the problem of national character and socio-historical circumstances in A. Tsalikov’s novel “Brother against Brother” (1926) are considered. The writer reveals the essence of the epization of novel thinking that happens according to the principle of the unity of historical and logical, which places original cause-and-effect relations between the man and reality, character and circumstances.
