Abstract.
The article analyzes the novel “The Notes of the Actor” by the Russian writer of the first half of the XX century B. A. Sadovsky (1881-1952) at the level of a genre form (speech genres, anecdote, obituary, notes), title complex, composition, plot, language and style. The research of the novel is accompanied by the description of the author’s techniques aimed at immersing the reader in the theatrical environment of the XIX century. The use of the theatrical behaviour form is considered as a cultural phenomenon of the second half of the XIX and the first third of the XX century.
