Abstract.
In the article the author analyses stylistic peculiarities, tactics, functions, vocabulary units and thematic-ideological tendencies that organize the political discourse of the second inaugural speech of Barack Obama. The tactic of glorification is used in the speech of the president, the manipulative function and the function of self-identification are revealed; the theme of generation interrelation is observed. Special vocabulary units, constituting the political course of the American president during the second inaugural address, are analysed.
