Abstract.
The article deals with the linguistic representation of the Biblical gender conceptions in L. N. Tolstoy's story “The Kreutzer Sonata”. The patriarchal gender ideas, peculiar to the Russian linguo-cultural community, are embodied by the writer in the precedent names, prescriptive stereotypes, and Russian paremiological fund units. The author analyzes the representative units, using the contents from the Bible and the “The Domostroy”.
