THE CATEGORICAL-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF PROCEDURAL CHARACTER AS A METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL STYLE

Abstract.
The article deals with the technique of semantics categorization of text units in order to formalize the individual stylistic characteristics of the author's text by the example of categorical-semantic analysis of procedural character in the texts of English-language journalists. On the basis of the analysis with the use of statistical methods of applied linguistics, the author comes to the conclusions about the function of certain semantic sub-categories of procedural character and the author’s preferences in the use of verbal units with a narrow and a broad scope of meaning.
