Abstract.
The article is devoted to the study and description of the semantics and functions of the English preposition and its translation into the Karachay-Balkar language. Place is a form of spatial existence of a single thing (phenomenon), and space is, accordingly, a form of the corresponding existence of the reality phenomena, making up the entire content of the material world. This is reflected in the fact that prepositions in the aspect of local connections form a certain system.
