THE REALIZATION OF TAXIS SEMANTICS OF PRECEDENCE BY MEANS OF “BACKGROUND TAXIS”

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the consideration of semantics of precedence by means of “background taxis” by the material of the modern English language. The author reveals the meaning of the term “background taxis”, identifies its place in the structure of functional-semantic field of the taxis, forms the common cognitive-functional taxis model realizing the taxis semantic functions, singles out on its basis the particular models that serve to express the precedence within the framework of “background taxis”, and considers the functioning of the relevant components of the particular models in the process of realization of semantics of precedence.
