META-TRANSLATION ACTIVITY AS A COGNITIVE PROCESS

Abstract.
The article deals with the problem of meta-translation activity in the light of the conception of translation space and harmony. The cognitive essence of meta-translation is considered by the example of such genres as translator’s preface and translator’s annotation to the translated literary text. In the functional-stylistic aspect the essence of annotation is described in terms of peripheral text. From the perspective of cognitive linguistics translator’s annotation is interpreted as an impetus for the formation in the consciousness of the recipient of a new conceptual and literary world view.
