Abstract.
The paper studies the role and place of the jural vocabulary in the teaching process of the English language of the students of a linguistic institution of higher education. The analysis of the textbooks and teaching aids used in the educational process shows that such vocabulary is not represented in them adequately. The authors propose to expand the basic dictionary with the vocabulary of such legal branches as contract law, tort law and so on.
