LINGUISTIC MANIFESTATIONS OF CULTURAL DIFFERENCES IN THE PROCESS OF COMMUNICATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF ANGLO-AMERICAN AND RUSSIAN CULTURES)

Abstract. The article examines the basic principles of cultural differences manifesting themselves at different levels of communication, in particular, in the use of phonetic and lexico-grammatical means to express the meanings and behavioural tactics adopted in Anglo-American and Russian cultural traditions. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the most typical behavioural mistakes leading to communicative failures and the wrong interpretations of meanings during the intercultural dialogue.
