Abstract.
The article considers the role of an artistic detail while creating the material world images in “fantasy” texts. The notion of genre-forming elements in a “fantasy” text is revealed by the example of the material world images in books about Harry Potter. The language features that form an artistic detail of the material image of “Horcrux” are accented and summed. The conclusion about the role of the figurative and clarifying types of a detail in the formation of material images is drawn. The basic lexical means representing a detail are shown.
