Abstract. The article examines the peculiarities and difficulties of adopting the grammatical system of the Russian language by junior Dagestan pupils. The difficulties are conditioned by the absence in the pupils’ native languages of certain grammatical categories, prepositions. Practical skills are crucial while adopting a grammatical system.
