MANIPULATION OF CONSCIOUSNESS THROUGH METAPHORICAL REPRESENTATION OF RUSSIA IN THE FOREIGN ENGLISH-LANGUAGE MASS MEDIA

Abstract. The article reveals the contents of the notion “conceptual metaphor” increasingly spreading in political discourse. The aim of the paper is to analyze the metaphorical image of Russia imposed by the western English-language mass media. As a result of this, the author substantiates the idea of speech manipulating in the regime of information war by means of the monarchical representation of Russia in the military-political conflicts of the last decade.
