Abstract.
The article discusses the semantics of the instrumental case, its semantic occasionality in the process of phrases calquing from the Russian language. The study is based on the analysis of mass media materials in the Buryat language, in particular, the newspapers “Buryaad-Mongoloi Үnen” that was published in the script of the Mongolian written language, and “Buryaad Үnen”, as well as on the analysis of the language of the Buryats living in Mongolia and in the Autonomous Region of China - Inner Mongolia.
