Abstract.
Artificial words are words that were deliberately constructed to define new objects and notions as opposed to words that arose in the course of linguistic processes. The author explores artificial nomination within the framework of the system approach in terms of its relation to the phonological, morphological, word-formative levels of the language system. The paper analyzes artificial words borrowed from the German advertising and fantastic discourse, draws their borders with usual words, and identifies the peculiarities of the use and assimilation in the text.
