INVERSION AS A WAY OF RHYTHMIC ORGANIZATION OF THE TEXT

Abstract.
In the article the authors consider the syntactic design of the rhythmic system of fiction text and describe inversion as a way of rhythmic organization of the text at the syntactic level by the material of A. Huxley’s novel “Point Counter Point”. Attention is drawn to emphatic inversion, by means of which one or the other part of the sentence that is the most significant according to the author’s position is emphasized. With this type of inversion the most important part of the sentence becomes its informative center, it is moved to the category of rheme and receives special connotations of emotionality or expressiveness.
