Abstract.
The article deals with the contemporary state of the Irish language in the world language environment. A brief description of the Irish language is given. The paper presents a detailed analysis of using the verb “to be” in the Irish language compared with the same verb in the Russian and English languages, the methods of using the verb “to be” and prepositional pronouns in the Irish language. The authors analyse the main difficulties of studying the Irish language by students, whose native language is Russian.
