“COMBINING MADNESS AND MIND”: THE WORLD’S RATIONAL SENSELESSNESS IN N. A. ZABOLOTSKY’S POETRY

Abstract.
The article examines a thesis by Nikolay Zabolotsky on the world’s rational senselessness, which is a basis of his artistic conceptions. This postulate throws light on the whole poet’s creative heritage. Relying on the conducted analysis the authors conclude that Zabolotsky approaches the problem of opposition “mind - madness” through understanding the essence of the metaphor. The paper identifies similarities between Zabolotsky’s poetry and the key points of Immanuel Kant’s theory of cognition.
