ARTIFICIAL LANGUAGES OF G. MARTIN’S FICTIONAL WORLD

Abstract.
This article is devoted to artificial languages. The author examines the purpose of the creation of such languages in the works of fantasy genre. The paper analyzes for the first time the languages of the fictional world of the novel "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin. The research objectives are to reveal the composition of the artificial languages of the novel under study and determine their functions. The author concludes that the languages of the fictional characters are involved in the verbal embodiment of the artistic conception of the novel and theme disclosure.
