Abstract.
The article examines the cognitive construction of concessiveness. Concessiveness is directly linked to the conceptualization of worldview and thinking. The concept of “concessiveness” encloses semantics of the previous fragment in a certain frame by the recognition of the simultaneous existence of a contradictory thought, fact, and action, along with what has been reported previously, contrary to it. Concessiveness reflects such communicative categories of English communicative consciousness as ambiguity, tolerance, non-categoricity and non-conflictness.
