Abstract.
The article examines the image of the main heroine of A. S. Griboyedov’s comedy “Woe from Wit” Sofia Famusova through the prism of psychological analysis allowing deeper and more objective interpretation of the motives of heroine’s actions. The authors try to change the traditional conception of this heroine arguing for more complicated and multi-aspect approach to analyzing dramatic personage.
