HISTORICAL STORYLINES IN THE NOVELS BY ISKENDER PALA

Abstract. The article examines historical storylines of one of the most famous novels by Iskender Pala “Legend. Novel on Barbarossa” (2013). Comprehensive analysis of the motives shows that adventurous historical component is a dominant one, it correlates with melodramatic storyline which is typical for the modern Turkish mass literature genre - adventurous historical novel. The author emphasizes the tendentious, anti-historical conception of reality implemented in the novel and determining its storyline and compositional structure.
