THE ROLE OF REMARK AND PAUSE IN SUBTEXT CREATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH AND AMERICAN LITERARY TEXTS)

Abstract.
The article discusses the study of the implicit aspect of literary text content as a sign system, for which the absence of the single correspondence of the expression plane and the content plane of its units is one of the sources of new meanings formation. The question of the subtext of the literary work remains unsolved. In this context, the author studies and analyzes “strengthening” of subtext signals in drama through remarks and pauses against the background of contrast information in the dialogic structure.
