V. PELEVIN’S CREATIVE WORK AND MODERNISM TRADITIONS

Abstract.
The article focuses on parallels between V. Pelevin’s creative work and literary heritage of modernism, in particular, artistic systems developed by L. Andreyev and A. Platonov. The paper reveals the common nature of Pelevin’s novels “Omon Ra”, “The Life of Insects”, “Chapayev and Void” and the ideological-thematic spectrum of Andreyev’s creative work (the theme of “abyss”, the image of “thought” as the basis of the reality). The author shows an analogy between the psychological worlds of Platonov’s and Pelevin's characters. It is stated that in Pelevin’s works a set of ideas considered by modernist literature is interpreted in a new way.
