COGNITIVE ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPT “SIN” IN BIBLICAL TEXTS

Abstract.
The article provides cognitive analysis of the concept “sin” on the basis of Holly Scriptures with a view to examine the possibility to develop cognitive scenario including related concepts. To illustrate his point the author analyzes the cases of metonymy, metaphor and metaphonymy performing cognitive function. The author believes that studying metaphorical transfers within the religious texts can promote more detailed understanding of this sphere of human culture.
