Abstract.
The article is devoted to parochial prose of the 21st century. By the material of A. Shantaev’s and A. Lisnyak’s creative work the image system of parochial essays and stories is investigated, the special type of character, accompanying one, is revealed. The analysis of this image is based on identifying the peculiarities of its appearance and manifestation in literary texts, which allows substantiating the presence of the following models: “accompaniment”, “unexpected appearance”, “random replica”, and “secondary action”.
