Abstract. The article examines the problems of forming readiness for professional communication in a foreign language when training specialists for knowledge-intensive industries at specialized departments. The training is realized on the basis of integrative-modular approach, integrative educational programmes include educational modules based on the modern practices and technologies of practically-oriented model of the modern engineering education.
