TOPONYMS IN THE TATAR FOLK RIDDLES

Abstract.
The article identifies and analyzes different types of toponyms in the Tatar folk riddles. The author discovers ethno-cultural peculiarities of Tatar riddles with toponymic component. The content of Tatar riddles is considered in linguo-culturological aspect which allows the author to conclude the following: vocabulary represents national worldview, everyday life, national conceptions of a human being and surrounding world. The analysis indicates that using toponyms in the Tatar folk riddles is conditioned by territorial affiliation of the people who created this folk genre and their knowledge on world geography.
