Abstract.
In the article the specificity of interaction between the Balkar literature of the 1970s and 1980s and the folklore is studied, and the ways of creative mastering by the writers of the aesthetic resources of folklore are identified. Folklore components, included in the artistic fabric of works as poetic-stylistic means and techniques, contribute to the reconstruction of ethno-being, the comprehension of the national character and spirit in the context of historical realia in the life of the individual and the people as a whole.
