Abstract. The article deals with the semantic peculiarities and classifications of adjectival phraseological units with zoosemic nominations. The subjective-evaluative connotation, the metaphorical nature of phraseological units with zoosemisms is largely conditioned by the anthropocentrism expressed implicitly in them. The thematic classification of the analyzed phraseological units allows singling out about 10 groups of anthropocentrically directed adjectival phraseological units with the component “zoonym”.
