ENGLISH TERMS-EPONYMS IN TERMINOLOGY OF TRANSPORT AND STORAGE OF OIL AND GAS

Abstract.
The article presents the results of the study of English terminological combinations-eponyms in the sublanguage of transport and storage of oil and gas. The authors give an explanation of the entry of terms-eponyms into branch terminology. The points of view of domestic terminologists on eponyms in scientific and technical terminology and the functions they perform are presented. The models of the formation of eponymic term combinations are analyzed. Their structure and composition are considered. The phenomena of abbreviation and polysemy in the terminology under study are noted.
