Abstract.
This article considers the economic caricature as a creolized text consisting of iconic and verbal components that create the single semantic whole. Background knowledge on the problems of devaluation and the causes of strengthening of the Russian ruble in the international market from 2014 to 2017 is studied; it is necessary for interpretation, including understanding the humor inherent in the Korean economic cartoons. The authors focus on the interaction of linguistic and graphic techniques in the components of the economic caricatures through which the comic effect is achieved. The purpose of the study is to identify the images of the Russian ruble - the devaluation and strengthening in the world market.
