Abstract.
The author discovers the content of the notion “hybrid word formation” and focuses on mutual influence of extra- and intra-linguistic factors in hybridization processes. A wide stratum of borrowed vocabulary and powerful word formative potentials of the German language stimulate continuous word creation which results in the formation of capacious informative lexical units where just the borrowed component often bears the basic semantic load, accurately transferring the certain features of non-linguistic reality.
