Abstract.
The article reveals the content of the notion “precedent phenomenon”, which is now increasingly used in the media. The authors describe the notions that are adjacent to the term “precedent phenomenon”, as well as the results of the study of using precedent phenomena in the English and Russian print media for the period from 2003 to 2014. Special attention is paid to the translation of precedent phenomena, taking into account their different classifications. The article also concludes on the ways to translate precedent phenomena.
