Abstract.
The last decades have been marked by enormous changes in the life of the society through the introduction of new technologies in it. The processes of computerization of all aspects of the society life are represented significantly in the language. The Internet determines largely the style of today’s communication. These processes are especially acute in the youth sphere, in which any changes occur most fully and rapidly. This article deals with the problem of changing the normative language in the context of the popularization of virtual communication. Basing on the analysis of the most frequently used expressions in social networks, the main ways of derivation of units of youth Internet slang are identified.
